Hi Everyone
So my connecting rod bearings are stamped:
1455 SB
fm
50
Any ideas what that means? New to this stuff. Maybe a Federal Mogul .02 undersized (50mm) bearing?
Thanks!
Steven

Re: Connecting Rod Bearing Question
1455 is the part #, fm is federal mogal, bearings for cubs are stamped .002, .010. 020,.030 and std. so the 50 is different, measure the crank journal, it will tell you what size bearing needed

Re: Connecting Rod Bearing Question
So, a bit more info:
1949 Cub
Engine Serial 251341R2 L
Connecting Rod #: 251246R1
I've attached a photo of the bearing. All have the same stamped info.

Re: Connecting Rod Bearing Question
Hi,
The bearing in your pic I think says .002 near the edge, it is in ink, I think, and not stamped in. It's a little hard to see it not being there.
The bearing has been replaced before probably, all the old original ones I have seen said IH on them and had an IH part number, I think.
The 251341R2 is the block part number, not the engine serial number. Below is info from TM Tractor showing where the serial number is.
