What is the hole spacing on the 3160 or C3 deck

Postby ShawnAgne » Mon May 09, 2016 2:11 pm

Decided I am going to need to fabricate the arms for the guide wheels for my 3160 deck. I found a picture online showing the holes on the arms and then the holes that the wheels adjust on.

But was needing some help.

1. What is the Caster wheel size? Thought I read 8"
2. What is the pin diameter?
3. What is the center to center hole spacing on the bracket arm.
4. What is the center to center hole spacing on the portion attached to the caster wheel.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Shawn, I don't have the answers to your questions but, since no one has responded yet I thought I'd share what I did. I needed some casters for a tow behind 60" deck I modified from a belly mower. I found some great caster wheels pretty reasonably, very well built, for a Caroni mower deck that Agrisupply handles. I basically built the casters around the wheels. It worked out pretty well too!

The two on the back are what I made. Sorry there's no better pictures of them. Good luck!

The squeaky wheel may get the grease but it's usually the first to be replaced!

If you are going to build these from "scratch" you might consider using spacers on the spindle shaft for height adjustment. Several manufacturers use this method. Mine has 1/2 inch and 1 inch spacers.

Yup, so did I. I built the stanchions for the back as well, copied the front ones.
