front blade limited movement range
I have a front mounted snow blade on my 1950 cub with TC hydraulics. With the blade lowered to the ground, the control lever is only half way back and when raised as far as the lever will allow it clears the ground by about 8 inches. Seems like the range is off or something. The connecting rod of the setup is hooked directly to the rock shaft. Am I missing a part that corrects this? ( my blade set up has the bumper spring parallel to the ground and uses two long connecting rods joined by a lenth of angle iron pivoting on a bolt through the square implement mounting holes) Thanks for your help-Al

Al, go to the implement gallery at http://www.tmtractor.com and look at the pictures. Thye will show you what you are missing, but that is about nromal travel on most of the ones I've seen.

From the pictures at http://www.tmtractor.com, it appears that the "boomerang" that you should be using on the Touch Control rockshaft actually shortens the lever arm, meaning the rockshaft would have to rock farther to get more travel. That would cure the problem you have with the lever being only halfway back when the blade hits the ground.

Blade travel range
All the pics on the indicated web site were a little different. The boomerang piece might be what I need. It makes sense that the shorter stroke would help with the blade making ground contact later in the lever movement but wouldn't that also reduce the max height off the ground when the lever is put all the way forward? Thanks for the help-Al

The 8" lift up is good it helps in piling up the snow in to piles.
As for the lever for the TC being in the middle of it's travel
when blade is on the ground it should be as the blade was made to put down pressure on it to scrape or hard to plow material.(if you were to jack up the front of the tractor the blade would go almost 8" below the bottom of the tires.)
I have plowed hard crusted snow that the blade kept trying to ride up on
& by putting more down pressure on it i was able to clean the drive
all the way & not have 2" of hard pack that you would get stuck on or in.

If it's been broken I did it.
If its not broken wait till I touch it.

blade lift
Thanks fellas for the help and education. Sounds like my blade lift range is normal and designed to operate in that range so I won't worry about it and just have fun-Al
