Thought I would show some pictures of my dads cub tractor. He passed away at the age of 94 last September. Was six years old when he got this tractor so I decided to restore it. Been working on it a month or so looking pretty good still have the two front wheels to do and put decals on it is a 1953. I Sandblasted most of it the hardest thing to get off was all the grease  . I have the plow and cultivators that I'm going to restore also that's what got me here looking for the paint colors of them. Also have a super a with a belly mower mow a round 3 acres at least once a week really a good tractor.Ernest

You sure its a 53? Grill tells me otherwise. 1954 to 1956 had that style grill. Also did you make sure to get the correct decals? A 1953 would be "McCORMICK - FARMALL CUB" with no 'Circle CUB' symbol on either side of the radiator shields.

A 54-56 has stainless steel nameplates that read "McCORMICK" and "FARMALL CUB". It also had the 'IH' symbol on the grill.

Judging by the shape of the hood though I'd say you could just have a mismatched grill.

Anyways, looks great!

Thanks for the info it is a 1953 by the serial numbers. Dad replaced the grill several years ago I was not sure what year the grill came off of. Actually the grill was painted white but I decided to just go with red. The grill does not fit right but I will leave it as it is. As to the decals I did get the right ones for the 53.

Ah okay. If it was originally white then it was for a 56-58. Same grill as 54-56 but painted differently.
