I have a question on adjusting the play out of my steering. The parts CD shows 3 different shims a .007 , .060 and a .010 when I removed the nut and washer ...no shims at all. Should there be any shims if so how do I tell what I need? I have about 1/8th of a turn of play in the steering wheel and about 1/8" of vertical play in the shaft.
Thanks Ron

Steering Adjustment?
I bought an old tractor all dusty and worn,
knew nothing about her just the year she was born
I washed her and greased her and painted her red
Now she lives happily right here in my shed.

Partial response.
Conduct a search using "shims". There are several sugestions for correcting problems with the steering gear arm.
When I checked mine (Cub's) it was also missing shims. See "Steering Gear Arm Shims".
Next time I would put the tie rods and arm back together and snug up. Use a feeler guage to check the clearences: front, back and both sides. Add the clearences, divide by 4 and then add .003". This should provide a close indication of the required shim or combination of shims.
