Driveway Grading The Cub Way
Saturday I helped fill in some pot holes in a driveway at your Church. A yard of crushed asphalt was dropped of beside the driveway, why they didn't dump it in the middle of the drive I don't know. Anyway, it meant a little more seat time with my Cub. Below are a couple of short videos that my wife Tracy took as I played worked.

I absolutely love grading with the Cub. "Pappy" has a manual lift which makes feathering easy.

Nice job Rick, would have been nice with the blade on front to get started. Do you leave your power angle hooked up when mid mounted?
Thanks for the video.
Bruce.

Bruce, yes the power angle was used. It worked like a charm.

If they would of dumped it in the middle of the road how would anyone have got to the Church? One guy already drove on the grass with that white truck and he barely made it off the street before he got stuck.ricky racer wrote:..... Love the mini road grader feature of the Cub. One of my favorite implements!

Re: Driveway Grading The Cub Way
Great videos Rick. I do think that the belly mounted grader is one of the most under rated applications for the Cub. I graded out over an acre at my previous house, and cut in several ditches, and the Cub did an amazing job. I wish we had video of all the topsoil I moved because the pictures just didn't do it justice. There were times when I had topsoil packed right up to the oil pan and out to in between the front wheels, and that Cub just pushed it like it was nothing, leaving a nice 1 or 2" thick lift of graded out topsoil. You can hold grade so easily using the touch control, and just feathering it up/down as needed. Pushing around fine gravel or topsoil is just a breeze with the Cub.
My next tractor, I'm wanting to get an A/100/130 or 140, and give it a try with one of them. The 60-inch blade made for those tractors will also mount in the belly position. I'd say they're heavy enough to actually break out rough ground and grade it, where a Cub really needs the material to already be broken up. Gotta give that a try sometime.... after all the new house projects.... and after finding that next tractor!
Thanks for posting the videos, and nice job on the driveway!

Re: Driveway Grading The Cub Way
If you do that nice with the cub, you would make an outstanding finish grader operator. Nice work
