International Cub (yellow) TC question.

Postby havoc1482 » Thu Mar 24, 2016 7:14 pm

So I need to order a gasket kit from TM tractor, but they list two serial numbers for 2 different style TC internals. The red cub we have has the number cast right into the block. The yellow one was ground off for whatever reason and my boss and I aren't sure. I'm assuming its going to be the same as the red one but my boss wants to be sure. The only number I can get off the unit is 354399R2 which is cast to the plate on the rear and not the block itself

On the red cub the block part number and the rear plate number have the same first 4 digits. Am I safe in assuming that the yellow block would start with 3453? If it did I would know which set to buy.

Thanks!
Mike

if it has a hex type filler plug buy the later one, the early ones use a square pipe plug

Hi,
If it is a yellow Cub, 1964 or newer, it would have originally come with a 360719R1 Touch Control block. Some of the newer ones the number was not on the side, it was cast in, on the inside edge, up near where the cylinder rod comes out of the unit, on the metal on the right. Hope that's not confusing. I have seen a pic of it on here in the past, but I don't have one.
Put the arms fully to the down position, and shine a light up in by the cylinder, from the left side, and the number should be visible, on the casting, if it is there, unless it is covered with grease.
The unit could have been replaced too, so could be an older number.
Have you looked at the tractor serial number to see what year it is, do you have pics, it would be helpful. :)

ahh okay! Thank you! Never knew to look there, and that to boot that area is covered in oily buildup.
