The (1953) original equipment 54 leveling/snow blade (54, not 54A) on my Cub is pretty worn, with a lot of slack at each connection, and several parts bent from 60+ years of honest work. And now it appears that the support spring assembly broke.
So question is: Can I (readily) adapt a L-54 (Lo-Boy) blade setup to run on my standard Cub? I found an L-54 not far away.
I looked at the Operator's Manuals, I think I see that the L-54's front axle hanger may be too short. Perhaps I could use my existing hanger, twisted and bent, from the straight 54 blade. Is the lifting apparatus going to be too short? Will I run into other compatibility problems? Should I just be looking for a 54A blade?
Thanks for your wisdom and experience.
Charlie
Yes, it has been a while since I have posted, but I have been working the Cub, steadily plowing my driveway and my neighbor's, and providing warm weather muscle for random tasks. It has been running like a champ still, years after it rolled out of the NE/NY mini cubfest years ago.

yes it works on a regular cub, it will also lift the blade more for extra ground clearance

I installed an L54A on my 1950 standard cub with no problems or extra steps/tricks/mods. Make sure you get a boomerang.
If only Mrs. Hoyt and Mrs. Clagwell had gotten along...

Be aware if you want to grade with the L54, extending the A frame/pressure spring frame helps it reach the bell crank like a standard 54 blade.
