Come on, Rudi. I'll get Cathy to whip up a no-sugar apple pie and serve it up with some low-sugar and low-fat ice cream. You know what your limits are but sometimes I cheat a tiny bit.

My favorite:

Did anyone mention JB Weld? Oh! don't forget the GOJO (big orange jug!)
I bought an old tractor all dusty and worn,
knew nothing about her just the year she was born
I washed her and greased her and painted her red
Now she lives happily right here in my shed.

Yeah, I like Never-Seez also. I have a can smaller than the one pictured and it has a brush applicator attached to the lid/cap. I have had it for 25 years and I am scraping the bottom of the can now. I cant find it anywhere locally. Maybe I should try a plumbing supply house. :?:

I have used Seafoam in the aerosol can, I think it's called "Deep Creep." It seems to work well. Another penetrating oil I really like is Agco "Panther" penetrating oil. Comes in a spray can about the size of a can of shaving cream. A Massey Ferguson or other Agco-brand farm equipment dealer should have it. It sort of foams a little and seems to cling to the part so that it can seep in better.

Neverseez, from the photo it looks like a copper based grease, in UK it's Copper-ease and should be readily available in all tractor sheds, invaluable for re-assembly if you wish to dis-assemble later on in life. Also very good for coating the majority of gaskets before assembly.

Just in passing, Hylomar Blue has been mentioned as a very good gasket non setting sealer originaly made for Rolls Royce.

Passing again, how about gasket material, I buy a metre square of .8mm paper for about 15Euros, enough to do about 3 tractors with all their paper gaskets, cheaper than ready mades, ballpein hammer, scisors and a couple of leather punches, away one goes.

WD40 has it's uses

Will keep the european mind ticking over Rudi and the gang.

Product LIst

Postby richard » Sun Aug 28, 2005 6:40 am

This is a great idea. I had never heard of a lot of these products until I got on this forum and asked a question about a sticky engine. I used Seafoam on my valves and it worked like a charm. It freed them up and cleaned all the build up off and they're moving freely now.

I like the format and it will help us new folk getting started on our Cub restoration. I look forward to owning this tractor and usubg more now that it's running again.

My list :?:

penetrating oil
#1 PB blaster WD-40 is thin and evarporats quickly PB sticks around LPS-3 is good for something that needs long term protection it is kinda waxy and will keep a crank jurnal from rusting in the garage for two years. Haven't tried Koil yet.

Never-seize I use the Cat brand with the copper in it. I use it on everything that doesn't need sealant. lug nuts between the hub and alumin rims etc.

Sea foam did not seem to do much in the gas. But I put two oz in the oil every 1,000 miles or so in 4 cylinder ranger with +186,000 miles and it stopps it from sparknocking (which it does quite badly without it) Amazing.

Pies they should call them sugar pies with a hint of fruit :!: :!: :!: Grandma's apple pie has a table spoon of sugar sprinkled on the crust and thats it. Tastes grate to me I cannot make my self eat those sugar pies. I want that much sugar I will suck on a sugar cube.
Take care of your equipment and it will take care of you. 1964 cub. Farmall 100 and 130.

I have ANOTHER "test item" for KROIL...I picked up another McCormick-Deering Sickle Blade Sharpener this weekend. :D It's SO RUSTED together that the gears won't budge, or turn! Soooo, I'm gonna KROIL it today and tomorrow and I'll let you guys know how it goes. I'll take BEFORE & AFTER photos of it (but I still can't figure out how to post them to a thread)!
