fan hub and coolant question...
stripped the fan hub screw last year after putting some oil in there - anyhow looks like getting the radiator out of way will make it easier to work on removing the screw ,gonna try speed out- I am wondering if it is okay to drain the coolant and remove the radiator and leave the tractor without both for a couple weeks in freezing temperatures?? thank you

Sounds to me like you're making it into a lot harder job than it needs to be. Take the hood off and remove the fan. Be sure to hold the nut and turn the shaft. Fix the screw while it's on your work bench then replace it. And if by "speed out" you are referring to an "easy out" FORGET that idea. They have a great name but what most people don't realize is that it applies to the money in your wallet not the screw you are trying to remove. THEY ARE USELESS!
To answer your question it won't hurt to set without coolant as long as water can't get in and then freeze. i.e. sitting outside with the radiator off and the lower tank casting open and it fills up with rainwater. When it turns cold and freezes then you'll have a problem.
Can you get something thin in behind the head of the screw to give a little pressure as you are turning the screw with a screwdriver. It should catch on some threads and continue to back out. Then depending on which is stripped get a new screw or a bigger screw and rethread the hole. Should be able to do that still on the tractor.
