clutch pedal
Is it necessary to block the clutch pedal in the disengaged position when storing it for the winter to keep it from sticking? I need to do this on my 8N or it does stick.

Re: clutch pedal
Do it with most tractors without a "full" clutch. Never had one stick if it wasn't done, but the uneven rust on the face makes for some pretty jumpy clutch grabbing the first dozen or so times it's let out. Always imagine the face is about to get ripped off until it's polished.
Interesting that you have the sticking problem on an 8N. Jumpiest rusty clutch face tractor I've used with this problem is my grandfather's / dad's / my TO20. After that was a Ford 1710HC. We have a bunch of 140's where I work. They never seem to have this problem, but they do go out a bit during the winter.
Kind-a wonder if this is typically worse on fords?????

Make it your ambition to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business and to work with your hands, just as we told you, so that your daily life may win the respect of outsiders and so that you will not be dependent on anybody.

Re: clutch pedal
Mine sat for 20some years with no clutch sticking issues. Didn't experience any real grab in the clutch either.

Re: clutch pedal
When I purchased my standard Cub the clutch was stuck, tight. Tractor sat for 6 or 7 years in a shed.
I start up and operate my tractors once a month or so in winter. For prolonged storage, I would block the clutch pedal down.

I have an excuse. CRS.
