Help Carb floods
Been a long time since I have been on but I really need some help. 1958 Cub has been running great for last few years then all of a sudden the carb floods out as soon as you open the feed. I pulled the carb and cleaned it still same. Pulled again installed new float needle and base. Two new gaskets. The float is good no leaks in it. Still floods right out, any help would be appreciated.

Re: Help Carb floods
Couple of probable causes.
Fuel leak at gasket on needle valve seat.
Needle valve and seat leak.
Float set to high.
Check carburetor bowl for a dent which may be causing the float to stick.
Compare your new needle valve and seat with the old one.
Search this site for testing the fuel level in the bowl. Also search for bench testing the carburetor to determine the cause of the leak.

I have an excuse. CRS.

Re: Help Carb floods
We have several forum folks who do carb repairs/rebuilds to whom you can probably send yours...OR you can take it to a Cubfest and get it done while learning how to do it yourself!!!

Use a non-hardening thread sealant, sparingly, on the cage/seat threads. Also, I see no mention of resetting the float height. Did you replace with the Viton tipped needle?
