Reservoir for Hydraulic tank to use loader

Postby Ricaroo » Fri Aug 12, 2005 1:34 pm

Does the reservoir need a vent? The touch control manual says to fill the touch control to just below the filler plug, However when you add a reservoir doesn't that cause the touch controll to fill above the fill plug?

I understand that I would fill the resevoir at the resevoir.

Thanks
Rick

Yes, it needs a vent. It would not cause the TC to overflow unless the reservoir was physically higher than the TC unit.

If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem.

Bigdog,

Is it ok to mount the reservior higher than the TC? I ask the question only because the res appeared to be mounted higher before and it would work out well as far as location goes

Thanks
Rick

If it worked before, it should still work.

Now you have me curious Bigdog. :? Are you saying that the cub touch control reservoir is vented? If so where is the vent located? I may have a problem :!: I have the Blue Ribbon Touch Control Manual -- GSS-1024, and I don't recall seeing any mention of a vent in the system.

Dan - no I'm saying I think the external reservoir needs to be vented or fluid will not backfill into the system. You are correct as far as I know, the TC unit is not vented. I view hydraulics as a black art. I am in the dark most of the time.
