Hydraulic By-Pass Block

Postby Ricaroo » Thu Aug 11, 2005 5:49 pm

I ordered a By-pass block from TM parts today. I should get it in a couple of days.
I took a pic of where it goes, I noticed that the exchaust runs up against it. How do I deal with that? Any suggestions?

Rick

I used a piece of 2 inch channel iron. You take the clamp at the back of the exhaust pipe loose and loosen the clamp at the manifold and push it over. Add the channel iron. Be sure to tighten the manifold bolts .

Rick, I took my exhaust pipe completely free from the tractor. Put it in a vise with blocks of wood in the right places, and proceeded to remove a slight amount of the bend that is near and to the rear of the hydraulic manifold. Then added a little more bend to the area up near the exhaust manifold. :!: MUST BE CAREFUL, YOU DON'T WANT TO KINK THE PIPE A little tweaking here and there, and this is what I ended up with. Was very satisfied with the result. :D

The muffler hangs slightly lower now, but is in the same plane as before. I fabricated a small angle for a spacer to utilize the original muffler support.

Apparently so---, but I prefer the location, look, muffler bracket and end result of this exhaust system. Image

Squeeze

Looks like a tight squeeze in that last pic past the implement mount. It ain't easy getting that exhaust back there with only smooth bends!

Allen, there is more room there then it appears, probably 3/4" or more. I have never had anything that used that hole for a mount. The cork is still in the hole.

This is a special bracket for the IH loader to move the muffler away from the loader frame. It sorta moves the exhaust away from the hydraulic block but not really enough.
