Hello
I have a 1953 farmall cub with a 193 plow . I went to a plow day this weekend and it was tough plowing. I had trouble with the plow wanting to shift to the left. So I want to add the keyhole tab to my depth adjusting lever for the stay chain. Can someone post the correct deimensions and posibly a picure. I have the resources to have them lazer cut so I would like the correct sizes if posible.

Re: 193 plow help
Are you sure the plow is set up correctly? Our resident plow guru, Mr Bill Hudson, has an excellent how to on the subject in the How To forum

Re: 193 plow help
Rob,
The stay chain is only needed when completing a "dead furrow." If the plow is drifting to the left, something is not adjusted properly.
At the top of this page is a link for "PDF Manuals" and has the 193 owner's manual there. To save you a bit of time here is a direct link to the manual http://www.farmallcub.com/[ Sorry, direct links to manual section is not allowed. ]/files/Cub%20Attachments/Plows%20and%20blades/Cub-193%20Moldboard%20Plow%2011-20-51.pdf. Another resource for plow adjustment is this "How To." http://www.farmallcub.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?f=149&t=38411
I would suggest that you spend some quality time with one, or both, of the above resources. Pictures of your plow attached to your Cub can be very beneficial helping find the problem.
Let us know how you make out.

Re: 193 plow help
To reinforce what tmays said, you probably have some other set-up problem. When I've seen people having this sort of problem, the plow isn't running at a proper angle. In most plowing, the side chain should be running slack. Unless you are finishing up a dead furrow, the landside is what keeps the plow from moving to the left.
I see Bill commented while I was typing this.

Re: 193 plow help
The hole dimensions should be large enough for your chain to slip through - maybe 1/8" larger than the size of your chain. The slot should be maybe 1/16" over the thickness of the chain link. Flatbar thickness should be around 1/4". Your choice of flatbar width will be determined by the size of the hole.
If your plow is drifting to the left and you followed the adjustment procedures, try adjusting the spring tension on the plow mount. Tightening up the left spring should help.

Re: 193 plow help
I had problems getting the plow to bite without someone stepping on it to get me started and then it was shallow. I was disappointed and had to break it up with another tractor. I pretty much scratched trying to use the plow again.

A Cub plow will do an excellent job of plowing when properly adjusted. The point and share need to be in good condition, after that it is 95+% adjustment.

Re: 193 plow help
Thanks I may try it after I get it running again but not really sure I should one of the mounting bolts holes where its like some sort of pot metal chipped off where you mount the bracket.
