Trophy response

Postby IH GIRL » Wed Aug 10, 2005 11:57 am

Just reading over the terrific and heartfelt post on George's trophy post got me thinking again. As John and I but also feel deeply regarding making sure no one gets their feelings hurt or gets to mad when someone else knocks on all the hard work and time they may have put into their tractor, we continue to try to look for additional "fun" trophies to give out. The 5 we have at Cub-Arama are Newest - Oldest- Traveled Furthest - Ugliest- and Peoples choice. I have been toying with changing a few of these, but we do steer clear or the trap of "best restoration", not thinking straight and being our first show in 2002 we did have that class, but dropped it quickly when someone kindly pointed the obvoius out to me. If anyone has an idea on a new FUN class I would love to here it. One of the ones I was thinkg a little on is - All dressed up? but not sure if enought would want to "dress up" their tractors for the parade. Let me know what you guys think...........we appreciate every one coming to our area to get together and want to make sure you have a good time at the Cub-Arama (cub family reunion)

Jamie,
This is just a thought, maybe some others will chime in here and give their opinions too, the decal that Bigdog had for Cubfest seemed to go over very well and it seems to me it serves as participation reconition as well. May be too late to get some made up and the cost may be such that you couldn't do anything this year, but like I said just my 2cents worth!!

See ya in September (my registration is in the mail or just getting there!)

Ron
I bought an old tractor all dusty and worn,
knew nothing about her just the year she was born
I washed her and greased her and painted her red
Now she lives happily right here in my shed.

Thanks Jamie, we appreciate all the work you do for all of us. I'll second the comments made on the earlier thread about tropies, and hiring someone to do a tractor for you. That is merely a case of how much money you have to spend. to me the greatest pride is being able to say I did that myself, unles it is being able to say a friend thought enough of me to do it when I couldn't.

In my opinion the ones you have now are enough.

Hey Jamie & John...I'm lookin' proudly right now, as I write this at my "JP's 1st. Midwest Cub-A-Rama Exhibitor button with my name, and the date of the show. That's enough for this ol' boy to take home, along with a BUNCH of memories from meeting some of the NICEST FOLKS anywhere in the WORLD!

:D How about one for the purdiest operator. With all the mug shots I've seen, including my own, you probably would never have to give one away!
