Noticed this photo online on Craiglist via a friend on FB. I've looked through the huge CB1A Parts Manual and don't see this setup anywhere. Nor is in the owners manual for the 172. Have any of you tired this and if so what is being used.

Hard to tell what it is from that picture. Here is the manual for the fertilizer unit to use with a Cub-172 planter:

Thanks Jim - it does look it's attached to the planter - but it may actually just be laying there.

Looks to me like it is attached as shown in illustration 16 above. I can't tell what the bottom end looks like, whether it is a deep applicator or not.

Jim, I agree I just worded it poorly in my first reply to you. In my original post I had thought it was actually attached to the blade itself. With illus. 16 and closer look at the photo it looks like the toolbar extension is leaning against the planting blade.
