Steering gaskets question

Postby Redclip » Fri Jul 24, 2015 9:00 am

When reassembling the steering, should I use gasket sealing compound on the gaskets, or not? When I took it apart, the housing base gasket seemed like it was glued on really good, but the steering shaft bearing gasket wasn't at all.

It is pretty much up to you, but unless there are problems with surface not being smooth, a sealer is rarely needed on a gasket. The only exceptions I have found to this are Kopper Koat on head and manifold gaskets, and I usually use a very thin coat on the radiator gasket.
If you are not part of the solution,
you are part of the problem!!!
