Hello Folks
Can anyone tell me anything about the seals in the cub fan pulley assembly? I understand there is oil in it (or supposed to be) I put oil in mine but it just came out the shaft end where it mounts - I see TM list 2 gaskets for the fan pulley hub but are there not seals in there?
Regards
Ian

Re: Fan pulley question
If oil is running out, you overfilled it and that gets messy when the fan blows the oil all over the motor! (a lesson I learned the hard way...). Turn the hub till the screw is facing towards the air cleaner, remove the screw, pump in some oil, then rotate the hole to the 6 o'clock position so the extra oil can drain out. Then replace the screw.

Re: Fan pulley question
Originally there was a O ring type seal molded into the fan pulley assembly but there was never a replacement . In 1976 International went to a cast iron pulley assembly with sealed bearings. These are available from aftermarket. But its been my experience the aftermarket cast iron pulley bearings are junk. I always replace them with a quality bearing usually a timken
