Woods 59 Question

Postby PoconoCub » Mon Jun 22, 2015 7:09 pm

I want to use my Woods 59 belly mower this year (Due to health reasons it hasn't been on the cub for more than 3 years) and I find I am missing a couple of parts :(

Does anyone know the measurements and thickness of the clamp plate (#19)

and the measurements of the chain bracket (#14), I do not have 85.00 to buy a new one but have some scrap steel that I may be able to make one.

No problem NJ Farmer, I found a piece of 1/4" big enough to make what I needed and used the idler bracket as a template. Now I just have to find the right drill and drill the 4 holes.

The T-shaped lift bracket is made of 3/8" thick x 1" wide flat bar. Both pieces of the T are 4" long.
The horizontal piece has a hole drilled 1/2" from each end for 3/8" hooks.
The vertical piece has a hole drilled 1-1/8" from the upper end for the pivot.
I'd forgotten about the bushing on the pivot end until I looked at the mower earlier.
According to the parts list the bushing is 1" O.D. x 5/8" I.D. x 7/16" long
If you're not going to use a bushing, then a 7/16" or 1/2" bolt with a locknut or two jam nuts would get you by.
