cub powered ... tugboat???
Minneapolis Craigslist has a teal colored palmer IH60 marine motor with what appears to be a matching sea water heat exchanger and some kind of transmission. Says it came out of a sailboat. For the $200 it might be worth it as a conversation piece

my hands are shaking ( it has the wet exhaust and marine tranny ) they are known for their reliability in the sailboat circles , usually only changed out when they stop running , or to diesel for more safety . looking for a ride south for it . quite a long shot , fingers crossed . coppersmythe...................................( been looking for a long time )

I've been watching for one of them for a no good reason too. I wouldn't need it hauled south.

Thanks for sharing. It's pretty interesting, it appears to drive the trans off what would be the front of the engine, along with a few other oddities. Motorola alternator, electronic VR, right angle driven distributer, water pump, oil pressure sending unit, marine exhaust manifold, ... and other stuff I'm sure. $200 sound like a great price!

Re: cub powered ... tugboat???
Back in the "old" days many inboard boats used a right hand rotation prop to counter react the weight of the driver thru the use of engine torque. They mounted the flywheel foward and took the drive of the front of the crank. Then they went to reverse rotation engines with the flywheel to the rear which lowered the center of gravity. In '89 Correct Craft, the builder of Ski Nautiques and one of the last hold outs on right hand props went with a new trans that turned the prop right with an engine that turned normal automotive direction, left.
