Oil pressure gauge

Postby alanskonieczny » Tue Aug 02, 2005 6:44 am

Does anyone know if it's possible to mount the oil pressure gauge in this open space I have in the dash?

Alan, yes it can be done. You just need to move the gauge and run a short pressure line.

If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem.

Alan: We moved ours to the dash. It is much easier to view pressure readings. Dan

Any clues as to where to get the line? Hardware store?

Alan,
Any auto parts store should have a kit comes with tubing and misc fittings that you will need. I bought mine at Advance Auto for a couple of bucks. Here's what mine looks like, as Dan said much easier to read! Image
I bought an old tractor all dusty and worn,
knew nothing about her just the year she was born
I washed her and greased her and painted her red
Now she lives happily right here in my shed.

Now if that was mine I would move the amp guage to the left side and put the oil-pressure guage on the right side. Reason being is that there will be a shorter straight run requiring less bending of the new oil line you are going to make. :?: :P

Yup you sure can. Ellie has hers moved up to the dash. I changed the location of the ammeter to the left hand side of the panel and put the oil pressure guage in the right hand side knock-out hole. You will also need the mounting bracket - but that can come from an M, H, or other like Letter Series tractor. My guage and bracket came from an H. Use a 24" brake line - bend judiciously and with meticulous care and it will fit like a glove :!:  :D

John, Your exactly right, and that 's what I did. It is easier to see the oil pressure if it's on the right side too. The tubing that came with my kit was plastic so bending was not a problem. I laced it up with my wiring so it's not visible.
Alan, the stuff on the floorboad and petals is a non-skid tape I picked up at Home Depot in the paint dept. Works great when you have wet shoes and fresh paint!!!
