I have a 1955 cub loboy that is leaking gear oil, I filled up the gear box but it leaks down to the rear end in just a little bit of running. What all should I replace when I am in there redoing the seals? I have a like new clutch plate & a good used pressure plate I am putting in, I thought I would put in a new throw out bearing also. Does anyone sell a complete seal & gasket kit to do what I need to replace & who has the best prices? What is best to fill the trans gear box & rear end with I have been told to use 80-90w gear oil & another guy told me to use trans fluid in both.
Thanks for any info BIll

Re: seals leaking
Transmission/differential has a tendency to accumulate condensation/water. Over full will seep lubricant.
First thing is to drain the transmission. Let set over night with drain plug removed. Then top off transmission to fill plug locate on the left side.

Re: seals leaking
Yes, it sounds like the transmission may be overfull. It only takes 3 1/2 PINTS per the Lubrication Table:
http://www.cleancomputes.com/Cub/Cub%20Owner's%20Manuals/McCormick%20Farmall%20Cub%20Tractor%20Operator's%20Manual%201-5-55/Page-19.jpg
If overfilled, the fluid level will leak out the differential seals, even if they are in OK shape.
