You Think I'm Warped? (picture)
Started to rebuild the carb off the aux engine this morning. I could tell the throttle body was warped before I took it apart but it didn't look this bad because the PO had used 2 gaskets to try and seal it.
And you thought I'm warped
I'll post some after pictures when I fix it.

Donny,
The P.O. didn't have trouble warping it, so you should be able to straighten it. Amazingly, he didn't seem to realize it was warped from over-tightening the screws, so he used the second gasket so he could warp it even more... more gasket to over-compress.

I have one too. Mine came off a harvester thresher.
60 cu in engines were used for bailers, oil well pumping, electrical generation as well as irrigation pumping. Here is a picture of the serial tag.

Two of my Cubs are powered by engines that came off oil well pumpers. The pumpers were built from salvaged International 50-T balers.

Donny, You did a great job getting that thing straightened out. Looks like it will probably work too!
I bought an old tractor all dusty and worn,
knew nothing about her just the year she was born
I washed her and greased her and painted her red
Now she lives happily right here in my shed.

Painless,
Here's the final step to get it truly flat... if you promise to never allow the screws to be over-tightened again.

First I made sure the bottom (bowl) was flat by using a surface plate (concrete floor ) and some 600 wet or dry paper. Then I used various sized flat washers between the bodies at the screw points. These were the lowest points. Imagine that Then used blocks of wood and a few "C" clamps to slowly pull the throttle body down. Once it was pretty close I then used a good piece of hickory to "strategically tunk" it into shape.
When I started the warpage was .133845678967" (best I could measure ) and when I finished it was less than .003 measured with a feeler guage.
Mr. GW's will turn out flatter but I left my neighbor's Bridgeport in his shop when we left CA. Wish I had it back
How did you do it?

Donny: Thanks for the detailed reply! When I saw the first picture I thought that carb was toast. It's amazing that it could be warped that far out by overtightening the screws, but it makes sense. I always learn so much on this forum
George: That final step would really finish it off nicely if you have access to the equipment. I enjoyed seeing the picture.
