1948 cub
I have just purchased a 48 cub. She has new paint,radiator,12 volt, wires battery, gauges, switches, and good tires. She runs very good and the hydraulics are strong. My only problem is that the hydraulics leak at the leather boots when running. Is there an easy fix (O-rings) or must I completely overhaul? Jim in NC with Rufus the Cub

Jim - you really won't know for sure until you take a look under the sleeves. If the valves are scored replacing the "O" rings may not fix the problem - or at least for very long. If the "O" rings are just worn it may solve the problem. In any case, it is worth a shot before doing a complete rebuild.

If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem.

The control valve can be removed from the open/boot end, but the piston can only be removed from the other end after the head plate is removed. Here's a link to a how to by joey j showing a rebuild: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=86346&p=688229&hilit=touch+control+rebuild#p688229 The other part # block has a rebuild how to by trooppfc.
