Removing floor board

Postby Doodle » Sat Jan 31, 2015 5:26 pm

I would like to remove the floor board on my standard Cub to assist in painting. It appears the left brake pedal has to slide off the shaft. I took out the tapered set screw bolt and no luck breaking it loose from the shaft. I applied a little heat with a torch but the clutch and brake share that shaft. Will heating it hurt anything inside the torque tube? Any other recommendations on getting the floor pan off?

I looked back on old post and have a better idea. Still would like to know if it is possible to hurt anything inside the torque tube by heat transfer down the shaft. Thanks
