Not to nit pick here but the gas caps don't come from IH. They come from Navistar, the remaining portion of the original International Harvester Company. International Harvester sold the International Harvester name (along with the ag division) back in the '80's but got to keep the responsibility (and liability) for the gas caps and had to come up with a name (Navistar) for the now nameless company. If you go down to your local CNH Industrial dealer and ask for your free gas cap you at best will get some odd stares. You'll definitely get talked about after you leave  Just order one from the website. I've received several very quickly.

I realize this. I was just trying to keep it simple for this new owner. When you click on that link, it takes you to http://www.ihgascap.com which has a big IH logo at the top. There is no mention of Navistar anywhere. I didn't want to confuse him. And yes, I am familiar with Navistar and the history of the company. I have several of these in the shop at work right now:

My apologies. I am sorry you perceived my post as an attack on your knowledge, because it was not meant as one. I was simply trying to provide information to educate anyone reading this who was not aware that the IH of today isn't really the same IH that made our Cubs. (There's a subject that could keep a debate team busy for months.) In the end we are both after the same thing, trying to help others. I posted because I don't want someone thinking the free IH gas cap comes from their IH dealer (Currently CNH Industrial) and have them walk in and ask for one. They ARE NOT going to get a free one and depending on how informed and friendly the counter person is might just end up with some unhappiness between the customer and dealer as well as unhappiness with us here on the forum for sending them on the proverbial wild goose chase.

On a side note about that website, yes it says IH, and not Navistar, although the servers chase back to Navistar servers. I'm sure the IH symbol is "used under license from Navistar" I couldn't imagine the "new" IH's lawyers objecting to Navistar using the logo to keep a distance from the "old" IH's gas cap issue. That website probably should win some kind of award. It just has the look and feel of something from the early days of the internet. I bet it is one of the oldest on the internet that hasn't ever been changed and is still used.

Love those gang cultivators! Hope you have everything for both sides and the rear. Check pictures and manuals on here to see if everything is present and accounted for. I have gang cults. also. Welcome aboard from another Carolinian.
