Hydraulic oil for Cub
I am trying to flush the fluid from my Cub's hydraulic system. The manual calls for 10W motor oil which I cannot find anywhere. Is there an appropriate substitute for lhe10W oil? I am also hearing a "screeching" sound when I raise the plow up and down. It has never been changed or added to for more years than I know. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Re: Hydraulic oil for Cub
Hy tran or any compatible hydro oil.
There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

Re: Hydraulic oil for Cub
The 10W oil would have been non detergent oil. 20W non detergent oil is still available at auto parts stores and will work.
Better option is to use hydraulic oil, readily available at auto parts and farm/ranch stores.

I have an excuse. CRS.

Screeching is typically low oil level and air in system. Just got mine screech free by flushing, adding oil, operating system to stops repeatedly while adding oil as the level went down. No more screeching nor chattering. So happy!

Re: Hydraulic oil for Cub
Hi,
The Cub owner's manual says use only Hy-Tran fluid to flush the system. The pump has to have lubrication.
I will post at your other post.
