Does anyone know of a place where I can send out cub carberators to be rebuilt at a reasonable price?

if the top is not bent or the inlet is not striped I am sure you can give it a try with all the help on this board.

We do have members on the forum that do repairs, they will probably send You a PM.

Most usually just a good cleaning with help the carb greatly. When taking it a part just lift the top straight up so you don't break the idler tube. Not hard to find rebuild kits, but I would try cleaning first.

Agree that a good cleaning may improve it considerably. The idle tube is about 2"+ long, so lift straight up 'til it clears the bottom half as Randall suggests.

IMO, if you want to put a rebuild kit in it, don't waste your money on the inexpensive ones from your local tractor supply/farm storm (i.e. TSC). Buy one from your local IH Case dealer or order the complete kit from Steiners. The quality of the parts does matter.

If you have the Owner's Manual (downloaded from above pull-downs), it will step you through the process and give you measurements for float height, etc.

Let us know if you have any questions.

Just a note here: some of the IH dealerships (and former IH dealerships) have started supplying the cheaper kits rather than the good ones. So check before you buy. The complete kit is significantly more expensive than the poor quality ones.

If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem.
