Missing clutch housing cover, look at this

Mice seem to get in to some strange spots Question ,how did they get in the housing. It seems hard to think they got in through the clutch inspection hole on the bottom if that is the cover that was missing.

Mice are athletic creatures.

I started up one of my WD Allis Chalmers in winter. Mice jumped out of the brake lining hole, which is about 3 feet off ground and a foot or so of cast iron to reach the opening.

I purchased my Cub as a non running tractor. Stored inside. Upon initial engine start up, nuts and debris showered out of the vertical exhaust pipe.
