Hi all! While cleaning up my "new" '55 Cub, Bert, I needed to put a new boot on the main piston Connecting Rod, but when I removed the Connecting Rod Pin, I noticed that the Bushing (352007R1) was quite worn, with a chip out of it. While I have it apart, I would like to replace this, but do not know where it might be obtained. I found it on Messick's IH site for a tad over $16. I do not know the dimensions, but did check with local hardware stores, and it does not seem to be a 5/8"ID, but is close. The part I need is #9 on the following page:

Thanks for any help.

Probably right, Don. I'll be giving the local IH store a call Monday, I guess! Heck, I needed to get something there anyway!! Only problem is I was hoping to avoid the 30 mile each way trip. I'll check their price + gas vs. Messick's price + shipping.

I would assume that the bushing dimensions are nominal and with some measuring of the two mating parts, you can probably get if for less then a buck plus shipping from McMaster Carr or a couple bucks at your local hardware store.

Re: Touch Control Connecting Rod Bushing source needed
Maybe I need to get my calipers out! I did try the local hardware store and Lowes...no go. But really should measure it and check out on-line availability, I guess. Don't suppose anyone already has measurements for this, do they? Mostly I just want to get it back together though, so may go ahead and call Clapp Brothers ("local" IH) and see what their price is...
