1952 cub 12 volt wiring schematic/diagram

Postby dblact38 » Thu Nov 27, 2014 10:52 am

Where can I find a 12v wiring diagram for my 1952 cub with the serial# starting at 1537_ _ the previous owner had all the wires tape up so it will be hard to trace them out. I have two wires coming from each head lamp which do not work so before I start to deal with the wires I would like to research the wiring schematic note I cut the tail off the lamps and brought 12v to them which lit them I do have 2 wires coming back to the battery when hook up lights still don't work iam sure its a bad switch fuse etc but before I do anything I would like to no the proper wiring, right now its a mess. Thanks in advance for any help or information
Gary

Your 52 cub would have originally been 6 volt. If yours is 12 volts there's no telling how it was converted or which wiring diagram was used to do the conversion.

If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem.

Need to disclose if this is a 12 volt generator or one of the 12 volt alternator systems. If 12 volt alternator, single wire or 2 wire system.

As Big Dog says, unknown what the previous owner did.
I have an excuse. CRS.

All the original wiring diagrams are in the link above called pdf manuals. Navigate into "service manuals" . At least that will be a place to start to see what you have. Check the bulbs to see if they are 12 volt or 6 volt.

I will be having the same questions on my 48 model that I am restoring. It appears that it was converted to 12 volt at some point. I will check the info referenced.
Thanks,
Joey

this is for an H or M,. but electrically they wired the same as a cub. This is the most common 12 volt conversion that used to be done, though the newer alternators have made it simpler.
