Keeping at it!

Postby Patbretagne » Wed Jul 13, 2005 5:14 am

Just a sneak preview of the future in store for our Number One Cub "BABY", we are sure that one or two bits will bring back memories
A view into the station waiting room where the majority of the parts are waiting to get put back on to the rest of the tractor.
The wheel rims have come back from galvanising, the engine should be here this afternoon from having one valve seat renewed and all the rest reseated etc. The radiator, burst by frost & repâired should be here on Friday or Monday, Tom's delivery of oil seals....(long list) should be here in a few days (French customs permitting) and Baby is invited to a "Fête de Moisson" along with VIKI the Cub in "Rôbe de Champs" and The Allis B and an interesting corn cleaner.

The fête is to be held on the site of an old village on the top of the Monts d'Arrée just up the road from us on the 24th July Sunday.

The village is abondoned since 130 years when the railway came to the region and the whole village moved 3km down the hill to be closer to the railway rather than being on an old Roman Road to Brasparts. There is one farm a couple of houses and a ruined and pillaged church and "Ossuaire" left, we will be in the grounds of the church hopefully.

So keep fingers crossed for us please,

Looking good :!: :!: :!:

Make sure you take several pictures while at the old village. We all would like to see some. 8)

Patrick, what is the piece on the floor immediately in front of the chair?

Jack
You shure do, Snapon is the basis of my toolbox, I used to have the van come around every so often when I was in UK, don't seem to see them over here in France.
Jim Absolutely right, it's a toolbox, there is a bracket that bolts onto it a spring on 2 rubber bumpstops then holds the seat. It is ajustable front and back as you see by all the holes, not height though
Yes lots of Pics will and are being taken and will be presented to you soon.
Rudi, thanks for the encouragement.
The only REAL problem that I have is that I can't get American Fine or Coarse bolts and nuts over here over the counter so every rusty and misformed nut and bolt is precious and can not be lost!
See you soon
Pat

Hi Pat, Nice pic I guess you have youre cub totally dissasembled the final result is sure to be impressive...... I have to ask what are those two parts on the chair, one looks like a wide pulley and the other has a wing nut in the center ? Are they French Cub parts or am I just not recognizing those pieces..... On Youre standard thread nuts and bolts why not just buy a large assortment and have them shipped over, there is a company near me that sells nothing but fastners ( Hudson valley fastner) years ago I bought lots of stuff ther and it was cheap as in pennies for nuts and bolts....... Good luck with the project

Jackman, the wide pulley is a brake drum. The disc with the wingnut in the center is the hand hole cover for the bottom of the bell housing.
