The way I have always heard that saying was 'Hold her Knute, don't let her rear'. Same saying, just a little different take on it.

A slight variation here, too: My father always said "Hold 'er Newt, she's headin' for the alfalfa!" Al D

Re: I've lost something
Call off the hunt.
Did a systematic search of the garage (looked under the crate per Barnyard's suggestion - not there) moved the folded up Workmate for the umpteenth time then ten minutes later spotted the pin on the bracket peeping out from it - if only I'd've opened out the Workmate for use I would've found the bracket earlier.
And it was in the last place I looked; found it, stopped looking!

Re: I've lost something
Very well hidden. So I was right, you found it in the last place you looked. Mom always said that would be were I'd find things. She never did say anything about Knute or newts.
There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

You're supposed to stop looking when you find what you're looking for?
I usually keep looking because if I found one treasure, there might be more!

Not near as big a part, but similar problem. If you look where the jack stand attaches to the channel you will see a part I gave up on and ordered a new one.
