Hey Craig...I know this is gonna sound "finicky" :oops: BUT (in lookin' at your photos of your NEW wire harness hooked up) I see a lot of screws and connections that look as though they haven't been CLEANED UP :roll: .

You might want to take a few minutes while you've got the hood off anyway, and be sure to clean up any wire connections for a BETTER CONTACT (6 volts systems are funny that way). :wink:

Naw, Country - ain't finicky. That's what I'm here for - to learn.

So, the best way to clean the screws is......????

I hope to take the hood back off again and do the stuff that others on this thread have suggested - cleaning the air cleaner, the line from the cleaner to the block, oil cap, etc.....plus, I need to oven cleaner/pressure wash while the hood is off. My carb tap won't be delivered via UPS till Monday (&*!$%) was hoping to get it running this weekend. Well I can still drop the oil pan, plus, I've ordered a new muffler, rain cap, and clamp - should be here today or tomorrow.
Now that I think of it, I guess I am doing all this backwards - guess what I really should have done was paint, then put on all these new parts. I've got a compressor, and Dad had a spray gun, but will have to read up on how to paint using these accessories. And I still don't have my lean-to built yet. These 11 hour days don't leave no time to do much of anything in the evenings.

I can take it apart....problem is getting it back together.

Hey Craig...I like to take a BRASS brush to use on connections that are not coming off the tractor to remove deposits or corrosion. :wink: On the screws, or removed switches or motors...I'll use a small vicegrip to hold them firmly...then, I use a FINE wire wheel on my bench grinder to polish them up :wink: . CLEAN CONNECTIONS, especially on 6 volt posative ground systems seems to make ALL THE DIFFERENCE! :D
