Its time to plant fall food plots for the upcoming season. Tomorrow I'll put in oats and turnips with some clover that will really kick in next spring. Supposed to get rain later this week. Here's hoping! Here is a short video of my son plowing with 1949 Cub. A plow turning a strip is a beautiful sight!

Re: Cub plowing - short video
Got to try plowing the old fashioned way behind three draft horses at my county fair yesterday. I have to admit it was fun but I wouldn't want to put in a days work doing that. Your cub and son sure make it look easy. I can clearly see now why so many farmers were eager to put old nellie out to pasture and buy one of them new traction engines.

Re: Cub plowing - short video
Sorry to bump this 1-1/2 year old thread. Now that the fruit trees are in the ground, I'm thinking about Spring plowing. I will start as soon as its dry enough, probably a few weeks away at most. I'm excited because we're doing 2 acres, we've never plowed that much in one season before. I know I'll have no trouble getting it done, I have 16-year-old free labor! That's him at 14 in the video above.
Thank you Bill.
The real reason I bumped this is because I want to give credit that should have been noted back then. In the video you might notice a nice clean land side edge, consistent depth, and good trash coverage ... I have Bill to thank for that. I struggled quite a bit getting it to plow right in the early days, because I didn't do my homework. When I studied Bill's posts on plowing, I finally got it right! So, thanks again Bill!

Bill certainly is the "go to"man, for plowing issues! I've seen plowing go from what looked like a bombed field, to a "professional" job, same tractor, same driver, a couple of adjustments, by Bill!
