Touch control cylinder block reseal
The Cubinator is making motor oil. Not a bad problem to have if it weren't loosing hyd fluid. I am trying to order a reseal kit for the cyl block and can't find the cast#. Is it visible w/the hood on? What's the diff in the 2 kits? Does anyone have any shortcuts to this job? Got to get it going..... grass is growing!!!! Thanks

Re: Touch control cylinder block reseal
It's not a hard job... time consuming, but not hard. Just make sure that everything is CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN when you are working. One small bit of dirt or crud can cause you to have to tear into it all over again. If you are leaking hydraulic fluid into the engine, it is your pump that needs to be rebuild and not your block, however.
*edit to add* - your block part number is the raised number on the TC block right above where the hydraulic manifold bolts to the block. There are significant differences between block styles, so one kit will not work in the other TC...

You are right I got my terminology all screwed up and kept looking at all the wrong stuff. I believe I will let the cyl block alone and reseal the pump. Thanks

There is a very good how to repair the pump, in the how to section.
