I'm new to this and I'm stumped. I bought a Woods 42-C6 mower and cannot figure out how it goes on the tractor.
I know that the white part (don't know the name of it) is mounted on the tractor, but how? All the bolts on the back of the tractor are larger then the holes in the unit.
I've look at several photos but they don't show what I need to see.
Any help on this would be great.
Thanks, Chuck

The mule drive clamps to the drawbar brackets with the two flat bars on the ends. One bolt in front of the drawbar bracket one behind. Here's the Woods 42C-6 manual from Rudi's manuals above.

Re: Help needed installing my woods mower
Scrivit has provided directions on mounting the mule drive.
Mount the mule drive first, then slide the deck under the tractor. Mount the deck in the upper mule drive holes. The deck lift mechanism, view the side of the tractor with the deck mounted in the manual.
Mounting instructions in the manuals are not that informative. I had to have other board members explain the mounting procedure.

I have an excuse. CRS.

Also, keep in mind that raising/lowering the deck changes the tension on the drive belt. So, once you have it mounted, pick a height that you intend to cut at, then install the belt and adjust the rear pulleys to tighten it.

Re: Help needed installing my woods mower
So if I understand this the mule bar is mounted by clamping it to the bracket that the draw bar is on. I'll try this today.
Thank you

Re: Help needed installing my woods mower
I know I have some more photos of the Woods 42 under my tractors, but this was the only one I found right away that was already reduced and on photobucket. Hope it helps, and good luck!
Oh, and if I am having to do it by myself, it really helps to have some 2x4's, 4x4's and a couple long pry bars/boards to do the little maneuvering it takes to line things up. The bushings (#8: 5/8x1/7/16" Heat Treated Sleeve in the Woods Manual from Rudi's Manuals above) are available from the Woods dealers and are the same as the one that is on the lift bar attached to the rockshaft, so you need a total of 3.
Actually, I THINK if you click on the photo, you get some of the other views of the brackets...not sure, though.

Re: Help needed installing my woods mower
After reading all of your posts, and seeing the photos I was able to get the mower on, but I'm not totally finished. Just a couple more things to do.
Thank you all for helping.
