Bob:

This is what I want to use for my sprayer ...

Burcam 3/4" Brass Gear Pump
Image

Get the PTO adapter and poof all set. I know some has questioned it, but I have researched it, Burcam builds these for all kinds of water applications and they run both CW and CCW. Designed to run at idle speed especially they will pump pretty quickly. I need to go get one and do my project now that I is feeling a tad bit better.

Oh I like it when we comes up with ideas like that.

I am not sure that it would prime very well, the pto pump that is , you could mount a gas pump on a platform on the fast hitch, then you could use barrel brackets to mount the barrel on the side of the cub , all self contained on the cub It weould be a nice set up

If you have 12V available , either on the Cub or separate battery, and are not in a hurry, go to Wal-mart and get a boat bilge pump, less than $20 and w/pump quite a bit of water!! Dusty B

i agree if you are driving you cub to get the water you could hook it up to the cub's battery if the cub is a 12v cub. if it was a 6v cub yeah it might be a problem getting a 6v pump

This is the water pump set up I have, although I haven't used it in a few years....it works very well. It will move a suprising amount of water at only half throttle. The fittings shown are for your typical garden hose. I pulled a small trailer with a 55 gallon drum to tote water. If this set were to be used for a sprayer...i'd for sure need a regulator. The flange mount to the rear of the transmission and the curved portion fits right under the pto shaft seal housing. What I'm not sure of is if the bracket would clear the fast hitch movement.....if there's any interest, I could measure and photo it. 8)

P.S. I realize the bailing wire is a tad shoddy.....I have had a pair of J hooks for it........but there seems to be a mysterious vortex in my shop where tools and other items of convenience wander off to.

many years ago my dad rigged up a small water pump driven by a pulley. He mounted it on the drawbar and ran a belt from the PTO to the pump. It ran about like a household water hose with the valve halfway open.

This isn't really helpful to you, but thought I'd note it as a point of interest. Go to the last page of this brochure ... there is a Cub pumping water.
