PTO Pulley
hello All, I have a question about the PTO pulley on my 1951 FCub. I bought it with a international c2 rotary mower attached. It appears that the belt pulley on the back of the tractor is for the cub sickle mower. Could this cause a problem using a smaller pulley? Thanks

Re: PTO Pulley
The 4 inch sickle mower pulley will result in the mower running slower and not cutting grass as well as it should, especially if it is a little heavy. As I recall, the proper pulley for the C2 is an 8 inch.

A few of the members have the opposite problem. Maybe you can swap with someone.

Re: PTO Pulley
my p ulley is 6.5" dia. for the 59 mower , the sickle I have has a 4.5" pulley
The pto speed on mine tops out at 1,250 rpm---add the 6.5" drive pulley and left outer blade speed is right at 2,250 +or- a few revs.
The Farmall A has a 10" pulley and the AC -B tractor that I walked past has a *" all running Woods 59 mowers .----the first cub that I had came with a big pulley and I changed it for a small one to get more power! thanks; sonny

Re: PTO Pulley
Sonny, assuming you are referring to a cub, the pto pulley should top out at 1800rpm, same speed as engine, since it couples directly to the shaft from the clutch to the transmission. Of course, an A would be considerably slower.
