The pulley on the front of the motor does not have timing marks on it. It has a pointer but nothing to point to. they ussually have tdc and 16 deg marks mine ha s none

Some have only one. (TDC) Clean the pulley flange well. Might be filled with paint or greasy dirt. Find TDC (Finger over #1 plug, while turning the engine) and that is where to search. I've never seen one, unmarked.

Some of the aftermarket replacement pulleys don't have timing marks on them.

I was warned a few weeks back... Except, my new pulley came in with two timing marks.
