Chain points to lift a Cub engine

Postby Jackman » Sun Jul 06, 2014 8:03 pm

Whats the best way to chain lift a Cub engine using a engine hoist :?: , I have the front left ear as one point but finding a spot at the right rear not so easy :? , I did see someone here on the site use a long bolt thru the oil filter , the location is nice but that seems a bit squirrelly to me  any ideas :?:

Shipping weight for the C-60 long block is 122 lbs. Fully mounted block weighs in at around 200 lbs.

I'm not seeing a problem. Pick any two opposite anchor points. I use a wide strap mounted around the center of the oil pan.
I have an excuse. CRS.

Remove two head bolts on diagonal corners. Re-bolt a short piece of chain in the same two holes. Lift with engine hoist.
