International LoBoy

Postby aussiebritt » Mon Jun 30, 2014 1:54 pm

I couldn't find any other LoBoy categories for my International ('55) lowboy, so here I am on the 154 etc. category.

After 4 years inside the barn idle, I fired up the LoBoy with new gas and battery. Started right up, but no oil pressure. I know what to do on priming. That is after I drain the old oil which isn't bad looking, but probably with moisture.

Also, I have a Woods 42 belly to go on it to replace the old unidentified mower. I hope it fits, it came off a Farmall Cub. More soon.

Good to put the '55 back in service again.

Welcome to the forum. You will find plenty of help here.

By the way, since yours is not a numbered series related post I moved this to the Cub Forum. This is where you will find many of the Loboy posts.
There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

If it's a Woods 42 off a regular Cub you're going to have problems getting it to fit on the Loboy. The Loboy just doesn't have the same belly clearance and the finals are turned so the mule drive has to mount different.

What's wrong with the old unidentified one that you are replacing it? If you post a picture I bet we can identify it :D and a couple photos of your Loboy would be OK as well.

Welcome to the forum. :{_}:

Nothing really poor about the old one, just thought a snappy Woods would be great. It's on an FCub now that's out of service. I figured the final drive orientation could be a problem.

Someday I want the correct grill for a '55. The 4-bar is on it now.

That old unidentified mower may be more interesting than a Woods. Go to a show and line up five tractors with Woods mowers and the sixth with something different and see which one draws the attention and comments.

Now, I really want a picture so we can figure out what it is.

I seem to remember this being a C2 mower, maybe an IHC original. I am not sure though. The blue paint was original to when I bought it in 2000 along with the LoBoy. Thank you for the welcome folks.

Finally here is the finished '55. You can see I need the proper grill.

Yeah, If I were you I would be totally embarrassed to show that in public  . I think you need to immediately remove it! If I were you, I would be to embarrassed to take that grill to a scrap yard anywhere in Texas  . Tell you what; wrap it up real good so no one can tell what it is and quietly ship it up here to me and I will "dispose" of it for you to end your embarrasment. :D

Seriously though that's one nice looking tractor. Even though the grill isn't the original, I think that is what IH would supply later on if the original one got damaged. So in a way it is the "right" grill.
