Sure Bill, that would be great. I'm pretty sure that your block will have a PN of 529413R1 and no stamped SN.

Thanks for the pics Rob. As Boss said, yours was originally in a UC-60 power unit. I have recorded the numbers into the upcoming "Power Unit" section of the database.
What I don't have an answer for is how the original poster to this thread has basically the same block, with the same extra casting, but his PN is that of a regular Cub engine (251341 R7). I guess his slipped through the cracks in the quality control section of IH!

Bill, I'm not so sure that your block is in fact "NOS". I would venture to say that is has been reworked by IH for some reason and then the original SN was removed. Your block was cast in June of 1952, way before Palmer started using these blocks for marine use. I'd guess that is was originally in a U-1 power unit with a SN somewhere in the UCUBM 39xx range.

I have one of these as well. I'll take a few pics later. It came to me in a post demonstrator range '50 cub.

Nothing much to see......it appears the engine sn and block part number were ground down for some reason. Casting date has it as an early '54. Tractor sn is 114xxx, which is irrelevant I suppose.

Harold, I can't tell from the photos, but was the PN re-stamped into the cast after the original was ground off (like Bill's above)? If so, is it the same PN?

There was something stamped there 60 years ago I suppose......but nothing discernable now.
