Assembling Final Drives..

Postby Pickerincal » Mon Jun 23, 2014 12:28 pm

I've been tearing down and reassembling Final Drives and I've been using a large socket set to press Bearings and Seals in and out. The outer seal was just a little to big for my biggest socket and I refuse to buy any more Chinese junk from Harbor Freight (I bent the heck out of the Seal puller I bought last week getting these out). So to press in the Seals without damaging the rubber I had a roll of Metal Pipe Strap which I took off a few feet without bending it out of the roll shape and fit it to the size of the seal..

I then placed a piece of flat stock over it and pressed it in..

It worked perfect, and you can make it any size you want!
