Fasthitch Helper Spring Tension adjustment?
My '55 cub has a fasthitch which I hope to use with a Woods 42F mower. After rebuilding this tractor, I simply reassembled the helper spring and installed. Now I need to use it but cannot find a procedure for adjusting the tension. The mower is quite heavy and the tractor seems to be working pretty hard to raise and/or lower it. Appreciate any info or your tips!

tighten the nut on the spring, that about the only adjustment there is.

I have the same set up......I get about 1 or 2 ground clearing raises while the fluid is cool.......then it become a drag implement. It's a heavy implement for sure.

I think you can actually crush the spring down completely with the TC lowered all the way, by adjusting the nut.
Maximum crushage is maximum help. You probably want to max it out for that mower.

Yep! Seems that is the answer, and as soon as I get back out to the farm, I will get out the "mongo" wrench and go to work on it! Thanks all for the help!
