NAPA sale

Postby John *.?-!.* cub owner » Tue Jun 17, 2014 9:07 pm

Napa has several things on sale some of us frequently use, including such things as Brake Klean and various fuel cleaners for half price.

Gary, I'm sorry that has been your experience. In my case, the local NAPA is my first source for parts and sound advice.

Our local NAPA bought out a small auto parts store and kept several of the employees that were in the previous store who know the people and the needs of the area. They were smart enough to listen to them, and have been giving us very good service.

I have always gotten good service from any NAPA I've been to, however, they are significantly more expensive (and, after my recent move, further away). I get just as good service from O'Reilly's and Autozone and save money, so that's why I switched.

Agree with the "Doorknobs" statement. Reciently purchased new batteries for the VFD pumper which uses 4 heavy duty 6 volt batteries. There was nothing on the sales ticket or the ID of the batteries that indicated the voltage (sealed cells, no caps). After installation and a call back to the seller, it was determined that the batteries delivered were 12 volt!! :? When they were returned and salesman was questioned about the mixup, he stated that the 6 volt batteries were out of stock so he just gave 12 volt instead. No problem, he said he used a 12 volt battery to start his tractor all the time. Certainally not the "sharpest knife in the drawer". Nothing can be substituted for knowledge and pratical experience. I guess my 35 yrs experience & ASE certification is to much for them to handle. It is the store & their additude they think everyone stupid. They are my last resort.

Having worked at an auto parts store I can understand them having that attitude, you would be amazed how many customers are stupid, but experienced counterman quickly knows who is and who is not stupid.
