Woods 59 mower

Postby torchred89 » Sat May 31, 2014 9:58 am

When I bought the mower everything came with it but the pulley that goes on the PTO. I have one that is 71/2 inches in diameter. I measured form outside edge to outside edge. Is that the right one?

You need a smaller one. Here is a recent thread with great detail on that subject.

If I remember correctly the correct one for the 59 is either a 6 1/2 or 6 1/4. You can buy another pulley to fit your hub, and not have to purchase a hub.
If you are not part of the solution,
you are part of the problem!!!

Other than buying new I found it difficult to locate. I bought one from Boss Hog here on the forum. Otherwise I found one on eBay for over $100. Buying new is about $65-70 for everything and then shipping.

I know it's just a math problem that you would need to plug some numbers into a formula to get an answer, but since I don't know what formula to start with...........

what would the difference in blade speed, on a Woods 59, be between a 7.5" pulley and a 6" pulley?

It would be 7.5/6 = 1.25 times faster.

Well didn't see that one for the forrest. I was thinking blade tip velocity and diameter of spindle pulleys and ratios between the different pulleys and PTO speed and.........................
