Part Number for Mott Flail Mower Knives

Postby Bigschuss » Sat May 31, 2014 6:36 am

Hey guys…I decided to replace all of the knives on my flail mower this year and called Flail Master to place the order. I have all of my receipts of old purchases going back to 1999 from 3 different companies and the part number for the knife was always 101031. I placed the order and thought all was well…then about 4 days later I got a call from Flail Master saying that 101031 was an obsolete part number.

Any help with a part number? I know John *.?-!.* CubOwner replaced his knives last summer. I'm hoping somebody can give me a tip on a good supplier and a part number.

Thanks in advance.

buy the wider blades from flailmaster, I think they are 1 1/4" wide, they fit right on in place of the 3/4" wide ones that were stock

I don't know if this is your answer, but it is a step in the right direction.

I googled "mott 101031" and got this page, which says 101031 is obsolete and use 102086.
http://www.montageent.com/blades_fine.html

102086 has been mentioned in past threads, like this.

Looks like 102086 may be a bit wider (and probably more expensive). If you find the right version of the Mott parts list, both knives are listed.

Jim and Eugene gave you the correct information the 101031 blade was both narrower and thinner, and if in fine grass gave a slightly smoother cut, but only nominally so. The 102086 is both wider and thicker, and lasts longer, especially for rough work. I quit using the thinner blades when the thicker ones became available several years ago.
If you are not part of the solution,
you are part of the problem!!!
