Noise in first and reverse

Postby Scott1960 » Fri May 09, 2014 8:16 am

I have a 1960 cub. It is noisy in reverse and first only. Is there adjustments or simple fixes that I should look at before a full tear down?

Reverse idler gear is the usual suspect. That impacts both first and reverse.

bobs on it , the reverse/idler gear is the top suspect . its hard to see , you will have to get one of those little mechanics mirror-on-a-stick to look under the shifting fork . coppersmythe....................................
